NZ has lost one of our greatest intellectuals.
Moana Jackson gave an intellectual dignity and grace to human rights that will echo throughout the corridors of time and reverberate in our culture forever.
His work with indigenous peoples lifted us all as a species.
He was in a Bruce Jesson league of brilliance, his ability to look at the Meta of colonisation and unpick it was a gift.
His intelligence and his importance to any debate was incredible. I had the privilege to interview him several times and you always felt that you were in the presence of true greatness with Moana.
My only regret was that he didn’t get enough platform with the mainstream media because his wisdom made us all smarter.
We have all lost a cultural and intellectual giant this week and it hurts.
It hurts really bad.
Rest In Peace brilliant man.
