Kāinga Ora reconsidering evictions policy, minister says

One elderly couple desperately want their neighbours evicted from the state housing complex in Whangārei where they live, after death threats and police callouts, and most recently a rowdy party at the weekend that ended in an arrestand car crash.

According to one lawyer, they are just the tip of the iceberg in cases of Kāinga Ora tenants being terrorised in their own homes and Kāinga Ora is “unquestionably” breaking the law by not evicting unruly tenants.

No Kāinga Ora tenants have been evicted in the past three years, with Associate Minister of Housing Poto Williams today saying evictions remained a ‘last resort’, but the government would not accept adding to homelessness.

The hapless and hopeless Poto Williams is going to be crucified on this issue so it should get passed to someone else quickly. She has all the talent of Kris Faafoi with the policy delivery skills of Phil Twyford.

These Kainga Ora scum tenants are a political gift National simply can’t touch bcause of their appalling state housing meth lie.

The $120 million wasted on meth decontamination.

The 2400 state tenants thrown onto the streets at the height of a housing and homelessness crisis.

The demonisation of state tenants by National to sell state housing privatisation.

The mainstream media gleefully bashing dirty filthy beneficiaries to sell newspapers.

The fact state tenants had to have all their possessions destroyed because of the so called ‘contamination’.

The tens of thousands of dollars in debt HNZ forced upon state tenants in the flawed Tenancy Tribunal and the open question of how many children were stolen from state tenants by state services because of meth hysteria.

National’s disgraceful State Housing Meth lie means they have no legitimacy or mana on ANY State Housing issue.

These scum Kainga Ora tenants who are threatening and intimidating other State Housing clients shit directly into the faces of the 24 010 NZers on the emergency housing wait lists but we have an obligation as a liberal progressive democracy to grind our teeth and house these bullies and thugs.

The solution is more state houses so that tenants being bullied and attacked by these scum tenants have the opportunity to move.

I know, I know, I know.

We despise these Kainga Ora bullies who attack other state tenants but we have an obligation to find them housing because the alternative is far worse.

Labour need to handle this now or it will become a political wound that gets septic.
